Company Info

For many years in the Ben Tre region of Vietnam local farmers have made a modest income from selling coconut by-products such as coconut oils and coconut milks. Once the products were harvested the coconut shells and trees were seen as waste and burned to make way for the new crops.

Using the shells to create natural bowls is a practical and environmentally friendly way to utilise existing resources and stop unnecessary burning.

The invention of coconut bowls has also allowed farmers in Ben Tre to make a much needed secondary income, as well as given them the impetus to employ local artists to create carved and patterned bowls.

Jungle Culture is committed to supporting and promoting small and rural manufacturers in developing countries and the are proudly helping create jobs and opportunities for the people living in Ben Tre, whilst also helping in the fight against waste.

Care Guide

The eco-friendly coconut bowl sets are completely natural and organic which means they need a little bit more love and care than man made bowls. We recommend hand washing with warm, soapy water and drying with a cloth. Do not put them in the dishwasher or microwave as this may damage them.

Also, it is recommended that you don't put boiling water or food in them, otherwise they may crack!

For an extra spruce up pop a bit of coconut oil on a piece of fabric and give the shell a little polish...voila!
